What the art world can teach you about financial planning.
Many of us associate art with long meanders through museums on a Sunday afternoon. Perhaps some of us make the odd purchase to hang in the living room or even to kick off a collection. But rarely do we consider the business element of the art world. Artists, gallery owners and curators all lead fascinating lives, but there is much more to their work than just being creative. There is, after all, something to be learned from every profession.
With this in mind, we spoke to Hannah Ivory Baker, artist and one of the youngest female gallery owners in the UK. As the owner of the Highgate Contemporary Art Gallery in North London, Hannah gave us her thoughts on art and how it helped her become a better financial planner, covering everything from accepting Bitcoin for her work to how the talk of money is almost a taboo in the art world.
