When the Horizon Disappeared explores that point where landscape begins to dissolve into abstraction. Soft washes of pale colour are interrupted by heavier, more physical marks, suggesting sea, shoreline and distant weather without fully defining any of them.

Made as part of my Artist Support Pledge series, the painting reflects my ongoing interest in how little information is needed for a sense of place to emerge.
